EDUCATION VISA
THAI as a SECOND LANGUAGE (TSL); Licensed and Certified Thai Language School by the Thai Ministry of Education (MOE). Our Thai-language curriculum has been accepted by Thai Immigration as appropriate for issuing and extending non-immigrant Education Visas. General Information
The ED Visa is for foreign students, who wish to study in Thailand. It is normally valid for 90 days. ED Visa students will study a minimum of 80% of offering hours during the 90-days visa period.  

Tuition hours need to be used during the 90-day visa period. They are non-transferable & non-refundable. Unused hours will expire at the end of each 90-day visa period. To qualify for this visa:


1. You must have a passport (valid for at least 18 months at the planned date of arrival) And the empty 4 pages at least.
2. You must be willing to fulfill all study & attendance requirements.
3. You possible to apply for an E-visa outside the Kingdom of Thailand on the website
https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ or Change the visa at the Chiang Mai immigration office.
4. You must meet all Royal Thai Government requirements. To apply for an ED visa, The student need the Approval letter and the Letter of Acceptance from the Ministry of education.This process will take at least 30-45 days to complete. 


Nationalities and Ages qualify

All nationalities are eligible to apply to study Thai at our school and receive the ED Visa. The MOE does not make any distinction between students coming from different countries.  

Some of nationalities might required the Criminal certificate before enrollment.

 

Course fees and descriptions

Students will study in small groups of 5-15 students. Here are the fees for Thai (ED-Visa) lessons at TSL Chiang Mai: 

* The course fees include school fees, audio, textbooks, paperwork for the MOE, and immigration documents preparation.

**Both Thai culture classes and Thai language are counted towards total ED-Visa hours.

*** All ED-Visa courses include mandatory Thai cultural lessons (see below) 

 

TSL ED-Visa course schedules

Thai Education Visa Application Process

1. Course enrollment

a. Complete the ED-Visa course enrollment form  Download here

b. Submit the application form : Personal History check, Purpose of attending, Customer data, Contract, Bio Data page passport, and Passport photo with white background via email tslchiangmai@gmail.com

c. Arrange the payment for the course fee  Payment Method  then send us the transaction slip to confirm the payment, the enrollment will be completed after students have paid the full amount of tuition fee. 

 

 

2. How to apply for an ED-Visa

The student need the Approval letter and the Letter of Acceptance from the Ministry of education.This process will take at least 30-45 days to complete. 

     2.1  Apply online from outside Thailand  https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ 

  • The school will prepare the supporting documents and scan the file to the student's email then upload it to apply for an ED visa on the website. 
  • The visa takes 2-3 weeks to be approved, the student will receive the E-file visa in their email. After receiving it the student must enter Thailand within 90 days.
  • The E-file visa must show to the immigration officer when you arrive Thailand. And please recheck on the passport. It's must mention Non-ED and valid for 90 days on the arrival stamp.

     2.2  Apply inside Thailand (Converting visa) at Chiang Mai immigration office.

  • It is possible to convert from Tourist visa or Exemption visa to an ED visa, Your current visa must valid at least 2 months for the whole process.
  • The TM.30 and the lease agreement in Chiang Mai are required to be attached to the paperwork and submit it to the immigration office.
  • On the submitting day, the tourist visa or the exemption visa must be valid for at least 21 days. An extension for another 30 days might be necessary for students who enter Thailand with an exemption visa. There is an extension fee of 1,900 THB.
  • There is an additional fee for visa conversion and extension which is not included with the course fee.  

90-day report and ED visa's validity date can be different. To recall the date on your own, the student must keep a record of it.

 

3. Start your course

The group course happens every the beginning of the month. Students will receive an invitation email to join the course. Schedule

 

4. Visa extension

a. The validation of a visa is 90 days, Student must apply for a visa extension of stay at the immigration office.  

b. When extending an ED Visa, a student needs supporting documents as follows: 

- Current TM.30 & Rental contract in Chiang Mai

**Our school will prepare the paperwork for each extension. All necessary documents will be ready 2 weeks before your ED Visa expiry date.

We will then inform you to pick up your paperwork and fill out a form that must be submitted to Chiang Mai Immigration.

Please be informed that the School must be notified each time “Your passport is updated”
