Student Material

Our curriculum consists of 20 levels of textbooks that guide students through basic conversations that eventually allow them to read complex Thai compositions.

Students normally start studying Thai level 1, 2, and 3, then study reading and writing using 3 additional textbooks (RW1, 2, and 3). Students then continue studying from Thai level 4 to Thai level 15 by learning with the Thai alphabet.RW4 and RW5 are also available for students to study further in reading and writing Thai.

You can click each textbook to see the sample contents, then you will be able to find the proper and appropriate level of our textbook to study with.

It takes approximately 20 months in order to complete all our courses. 


Thai level 1 (with phonetic transcription)

This book is designed for students who have never learned Thai before. It includes the absolute basics of how to greet people and introduce yourself, use question words, numbers, basic verbs, and adjectives including colors and flavors. The book also includes nouns such as foods and fruits.

Thai level 2 (with phonetic transcription)

The book is designed for students who can understand and speak a few basic Thai phrases but want to increase their vocabulary. You will learn additional question words as well as more adjectives, nouns, and prepositions that allow you to describe places, accommodations, directions, weather, seasons, and family.

Thai level 3 (with phonetic transcription)

This book is for students who can understand basic conversations and can communicate in familiar situations. The subjects of this book expand upon some subjects in the previous book which include more Thai food, tropical fruits, months, seasons, and weather. However, it introduces basic Thai classifiers, more prepositions, and referring to time in the past.

This book includes lessons about parts of the body, health and symptoms, giving suggestions, and making comparisons.

Thai level 5 (with phonetic transcription)

This book is for students who have demonstrated an ability to speak and understand conversations using basic verb tenses. In this book, you will learn about grammatical rules, frequency, and active and passive verb tenses.

Thai level 6 (with Thai alphabet only)

This book is for students who can use basic verb tenses but have difficulty with more complex grammar structures and sentences. In this book, you will learn the higher grammatical rules such as the prefixes “การ” and “ความ”, as well as language expression.

This book is for students who have difficulty understanding simple essays, news, and technical vocabulary. You will learn more about grammatical rules, conjunction words, and more elevated diction.

This book expands upon the previous book with new vocabulary and expressions. Additionally, it focuses on reading comprehension.

This book is for students who can speak and understand conversations well but sometimes have problems with unfamiliar situations and formal vocabulary. You will practice reading comprehension and giving opinions on topics.

This book is for students who can understand very well formal speech but have difficulty with academic lectures, presentations, and professional documents. You will learn about more vocabulary from textbooks, journal articles, news publications, and magazines.

This book is for advanced students who are able to read a long article. The contents are about Thai customs, business, service, immigration, and other topics. Moreover, there are many conjunctions in the articles which can help the student feel more confident to talk or tell a long story to their Thai friend.

This book is about the environment, Thai beliefs, traditional costumes, the economy, technology, and proverbs in Thai. The main concept of this book is to serve as a long article with different topics. At this level, students can discuss the articles with their classmates and exchange their opinion effectively and naturally.

This book is for advanced students that combines all the learning aspects of listening, speaking, reading, and writing which includes grammar reviews. You will listen to the article and analyze the hidden meaning behind it. Then you will answer the questions.You will also be assigned an assignment that will require you to write an essay from the given pictures.

Thai level 14 (with Thai alphabet only)

This book can is a continuation of Thai 13 with similar learning objectives. However, the sentences will be more intricate. New vocabulary and expressions are added. Reading for understanding is the focus of the majority of the content.

This book is the last segment of Listening and Speaking Thai for Master. Likewise, it is comprehensive in terms of Thai communication skills. When finishing this book, you will be able to read complicated Thai books with a better understanding of various contexts.

Reading & Writing 1 (RW1)

Write and understand basic Thai script, vowel, tones, spelling, type of final consonant and simple written Thai alphabet.

Reading & Writing 2 (RW2)

Write and understand the change of some vowel forms, extra final consonant, initial cluster 1, initial cluster 2, pseudo cluster 1, pseudo cluster 2.

Reading & Writing 3 (RW3)

Write and understand the sound killer, using “ไ ” and “ใ “, double ” ร ร ” and final “ร “, loan words, irregular words and signs. You will learn how to spell and sound out words correctly, and know how to communicate in Thai clearly. Fluency in reading aloud will be greatly improved. Since the course focuses on high-frequency, common words used in daily life, comprehension and use of vocabulary will be enhanced. Understanding the written language and being able to read more fluently will dramatically improve your pronunciation and accent in Thai.

Reading & Writing 4 (RW4)

This book combines the skills from books 1-3. Now it’s time to begin reading short stories and answering questions to reinforce what you have learned. Additionally, most of the stories revolve around Thai culture, helping you understand why we say things the way we do.

This book is continuing what we learnt in book 4. Different fonts, a more varied collection of stories e.g. news, advertisement, and children’s tales to give you a more robust understanding of the Thai vocabulary you will see in everyday life.
